Question for written answer E-001327/2019 to the Commission Rule 130
Dita Charanzová (Parliamentary questions ALDE)
People who hold dual citizenship of the United States and an EU Member State are increasingly facing problems due to US financial and inheritance laws. These include being denied access to financial services, including investment and banking services, and double taxation on salaries, inheritances and pension payments.
This already complicated problem only worsens in cases of married couples who each hold different EU nationalities: for example, a Czech married to a Dane, with one or both also holding US citizenship.
